Building Clinical-Grade Cancer Detection AI on a Startup Budget

Over 18 months, I helped CytoVeris advance their OncoSIGHT AI platform from prototype to peer-reviewed validation, achieving 82% sensitivity and 91% specificity in detecting breast cancer from label-free autofluorescence imagery. By establishing rigorous data quality processes, triaging ML approaches to focus on viable methods, and creating feedback loops between model errors and data cleaning, I accelerated their path to clinical validation and regulatory engagement.
